Three Golds at Junior Euro Cup

On Sunday 28th of May, eight young fighters aged between 11 and 17 travelled to North Solihull in Birmingham to compete and represent their club at the WAKO Kickboxing Junior Euro Cup. The day was a success with a finishing total of 3 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes.

Zac Baldry, 13, had a fantastic day with some incredible performances that sent him into a well deserved top spot on the podium and a gold. Zac won his division of Boys Older Cadet 13-15yrs -47kg Continuous Kickboxing after some tough fights and beating a Team GB fighter from London in the final.

Nesta Baxter, 17, finished off her day with a fantastic 2 golds after some outstanding performances in both of her categories beating some top fighters. She took gold in the Junior Girls 16-18yrs -62kg Point Fighting and Continuous Kickboxing after beating a Welsh Fighter in the final of her Continuous and a competitor from Leeds in the final of her Point Fighting division.

Mackenzie Warrant, 11, made his way into the final with a great performance but on the day it wasn't quite enough to win the gold but settled with a well deserved silver after some great fighting. Mackenzie fought in the Younger Cadet 10-12yrs Boys -37kg Continuous Kickboxing loosing out to a Team GB fighter from Bristol in the final.

Teegan Aldis, also 11 years old, won a silver in the Younger Cadet 10-12yrs Girls -37kg Point Fighting after beating fighters from across the country with some great performances but lost out in the final to a strong competitor.

Talon Chambers, 11, fought in the Younger Cadet 10-12yrs Boys +47kg Point Fighting where he fought well to come away with a well deserved bronze medal. The category was very large with lots of competitors, Talon had some great fights to get him though to the semi final beating fighters from top class clubs in Manchester, Grimsby and Watford.

Taking the final medal for Evolution Martial Arts was Olivia Green, 11, who was fighting in the Younger Cadet 10-12yrs Girls -49kg Point Fighting division. Olivia had some fantastic performances and is showing improvements every time she steps on the mats, loosing out on a spot in the final to a Welsh fighter.

Riley Brocklesby and Paige Stedman both finished up with runners up but had some outstanding performances.

To finish off the day in style Nesta Baxter was then awarded Fighter of the Day at the event due to her fantastic fighting and performances.
