Nesta Baxter becomes Lincolnshire Young Sports Woman of the Year
2017 has been a successful year for Nesta Baxter and to finish off her year on a high she was awarded the Lincolnshire Young Sports Woman of the Year.

Nesta Baxter who is an international Kickboxer from Boston, Lincolnshire and fights out of Evolution Martial Arts became the WAKO Kickboxing Junior European Champion this year. This European Title was Nesta’s second after first winning the honour in 2015.
Nesta attended the Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Show-ground on Thursday the 2nd of November for the Lincolnshire Sports Awards 2017 where some of the top athletes, coaches and clubs of the county were in attendance. Nesta was shocked to hear that she was the winner of the award after being against some other high quality young female athletes of the county. The award was selected by a panel of judges who saw the award as celebration of the young kickboxer’s achievements of this year. The other candidates who had been shortlisted for the event was Darcie Proud and Georgina Adam. The Young Sports Woman Award was awarded to Nesta and sponsored by Ambitions Personnel.

Along with her European Champion Title, some of Nesta’s best achievements of the year include Double National British Champion, Double Athens Challenge Champion, CIMAC World Cup Champion and Bristol Open Champion. But the biggest of them all is that Nesta has recently been ranked as the World Number One in her category of -60kg Junior Girls (16-18yrs) Light Continuous Kickboxing. Nesta has also been recognised by the Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme (LEAP) as an International Athlete this year. Nesta has achieved all of this while currently studying and balancing her A Levels at the Sixth Form at Boston High School.
