A year to remember for Evolution Martial Arts

2019 was definitely a year to remember for Evolution Martial Arts’ athletes and students. In the year were Evolution Martial Arts moved to their new location along Spalding Road, there were lots of great achievements from all at the club from beginners to international athletes. A great year for the not for profit kickboxing and fitness club in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Highlights of the year for the club down Spalding Road included four of our students selected to represent WAKO Team Great Britain at either the WAKO Kickboxing Senior World Championships in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina or the WAKO Kickboxing Junior European Championships in Gyor, Hungary. Representing Great Britain and Evolution Martial Arts were Mackenzie Warrant, Talon Chambers, Chelsea Leggatt and Nesta Baxter.

Particularly memorable international achievements for Evolution Martial Arts include Nesta Baxter becoming World Ranked Number One in the Senior Divisions of her category as well as WAKO Kickboxing World Bronze Medalist in the Senior Divisions along with winning the WAKO Kickboxing World Series, the Irish Open, the Turkish Open and the Italian Bestfighter, Talon Chambers becoming Irish Open Champion 2019 and WAKO Junior Euro Cup Champion, Sophie Doyle becoming Triple International Bristol Open Champion, Jake Peppercorn becoming Irish Open Champion 2019 and Chelsea Leggatt achieving Silver and Bronze at the Turkish Open.

Evolution Martial Arts at the Irish Open 2019

At the WAKO Kickboxing National British Championship, Evolution Martial Arts achieved an incredible 18 medals finishing in 7th place nationally as a club. Being crowned WAKO Kickboxing National British Champions were Nesta Baxter (x5), Talon Chambers (x2) and Chelsea Leggatt. Other medal achievers at the National Championships included Mackenzie Warrant, Paige Stedman, Zac Baldry, Jake Peppercorn and Mark Baldry.

In the CIMAC Super League Events that held five different events across the country was attended by numerous Evolution fighters. Winning the Grand Champions of the series were Mackenzie Warrant (x3), Talon Chambers and Zac Baldry. Winning individuals throughout the year were Talon Chambers (x6), Mackenzie Warrant(x6) and Zac Baldry.

At the GB Grand Slam 2020 winners for Evolution Martial Arts were Emily Greatrix (x2) and Sophie Doyle.

At events in the Peterbourgh Series 2019 winners for Evolution Martial Arts included Jack Greatrix (x7), Sophie Doyle (x13), Julia Kusyk (x2), Talon Chambers, Zac Baldry and Emily Greatrix (x7).

In MMA, Harvey Moore won his bout at the Impact Fight UK 15 (IFU15) with Evolution Martial Arts’ MMA Coach Richard Wallace.

Representing Evolution Martial Arts in 2019 at both competitions and interclubs with mostly all achieving medals were Julia Kusyk, Ellis Vaughan, Mason Vaughan, Jack Greatrix, Emily Greatrix, Sophie Doyle, Mackenzie Warrant, Talon Chambers, Chelsea Leggatt, Nesta Baxter, Mark Baldry, John Chambers, Paige Stedman, Olivia Green, Jake Peppercorn, Kacper Jurga, Sam French, Rosa Hadjas, Kaius, Kyann Temple, Theo Ziobro Magalhaes and Harvey Moore.

Talon Chambers became Evolution Martial Arts’ newest 1st dan Black Belt at a junior level whilst Nesta Baxter achieved her 3rd dan Senior Black Belt.

Other than competitions Evolution Martial Arts held and attended lots of other events including a range of training sessions, our annual Beach Training at Skegness Beach, our Bingo Fundraiser, our Annual Christmas Fight Night and Presentation Evening, running the Boston Marathon Fun Run, our Halloween Fancy Dress Training, Numerous Belt Gradings, Summer Early Morning Fitness Bootcamp and lots of brilliant weeks of training.

Thank you and well done to all of our students, competitors and athletes at Evolution Martial Arts for making 2019 a great year. Our Evolution Coaches are proud of all of our students whether it be in classes, training, fitness, gradings or competitions, well done. We look forward to an even better year in 2020.
