Nesta finishes her First Year as a Senior as WORLD RANKED NUMBER ONE

Nesta Baxter who is only 19 years old has made quite an impact in her first year as a Senior Athlete in the world of WAKO Kickboxing. She finishes her first year as a Senior Competitor as the Current World Ranked Number One in the Senior Division of WAKO Kickboxing Women’s -60kg LC.

Nesta Baxter trains and competes out of Evolution Martial Arts in Boston, Lincolnshire alongside studying Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle University.

2019 was quite a year for Nesta Baxter with an array of achievements including becoming WAKO Kickboxing World Senior -60kg LC Currently Ranked Number One, WAKO Kickboxing World Series Senior -60kg LC Champion, WAKO Kickboxing World Senior -60kg LC Bronze Medalist and WAKO Kickboxing British Champion x5 in Junior -60kg LC, KL, PF and Senior -60kg KL and PF.

The first year as a Senior Athlete saw Nesta win her 20th British National WAKO Kickboxing Title and represent WAKO Team Great Britain for the seventh consecutive year.

Other International achievements for the female fighter included Irish Open World Series Champion -60kg Junior LC in Dublin, Ireland, Turkish Open World Series Champion x4 in -60kg Junior LC, KL, PF and Senior LC in Antalya, Turkey, Bestfighter World Series Champion Senior -60kg LC in Rimini, Italy, EUSA University European WAKO Kickboxing Championships Senior -60kg Silver Medalist LC and Bronze Medalist PF in Zagreb, Croatia, WAKO Kickboxing British National Silver Medalist Senior -60kg LC, Irish Open World Series Bronze Medalist Junior -60kg PF in Dublin, Ireland, Turkish Open World Series Silver Medalist Senior -60kg PF and Bronze Medalist Senior -60kg KL in Antalya, Turkey and Bestfighter World Series Bronze Medalist Senior -60kg KL in Rimini, Italy

Nesta wishes to thank all of her Coaches, Team Mates and people around her for the continual support in all aspects. A special mention to WAKO GB, Newcastle University and Evolution Martial Arts. Nesta would especially like to thank her main Coach Linda Baxter who is also her Mum as well as Nigel Baxter, her Dad, for everything they have done and supported her in.

Nesta is looking forward to the next season in the Sport of WAKO Kickboxing in 2020 with many goals for her to achieve. This year, Nesta hopes to maintain her ranking of World Number One, to achieve at the National Championships 2020 and to represent Team Great Britain at the WAKO Senior European Championships 2020. Nesta’s main goal is to become the Individual WAKO Kickboxing World Champion and to represent her country and sport in the Olympic Games. But over everything, Nesta hopes to be able to inspire the next generation in not only Kickboxing and Combat Sports but in sports in general.
