3 Golds and a Bronze for 2 Evolution Athletes in Belgium
On the weekend of 3rd-4th September, two Evolution Athletes attended the Flanders International Kickboxing Cup which was held in Beveren, Belgium. The two athletes had some great results achieving three gold medals and one bronze medal placing them in 19th position out of 84 clubs from countries including Guatemala, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, Norway, Chile and USA. This is a fantastic achievement considering there were only two members fighting this weekend from Evolution Martial Arts.
Before the competition began. Left to right, Coach Linda, Andrew, Nesta and Coach Nigel.
Nesta Baxter, 22, achieved three golds in this international competition in the Senior Ladies -65kg Light Continuous, Senior Ladies -70kg Light Continuous and Senior Ladies -65kg Kick Light divisions. Nesta had some great fights where she came up against competitors from countries such as Liechtenstein, Italy and Germany. This is great preparation for Nesta as she continues her preparation to represent Team GB at the WAKO Kickboxing Senior European Championships in Turkey later in the year.

Andrew Gregory, 15, achieved a very well deserved bronze medal in the Junior Men -69kg Light Continuous after he bowed out following a great match to a competitor from Spain. Andrew had some tough fights and wins at the international competition. This is one of Andrew’s first competitions internationally and to achieve a medal at this level is something to be very proud of.
