Five New British National Champions for Evolution Martial Arts
On the weekend of the 12th and 13th of February members of Evolution Martial Arts travelled to the WAKO Kickboxing British National Championships 2022 which were held at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre in Nottingham. This was a brilliant weekend for Team Evolution Martial Arts coming away with five new National Champions, five silver medals and three bronze medals.
Evolution Martial Arts finished the Championships placed in 9th position out of 97 clubs from across Great Britain.

Emily Gregory became double British National Champion in the Junior Female (16-18years) and Senior Female (19+ years) -70kg Point Fighting where she competed against top fighters from across the country before winning against a competitor from Leeds in the Senior Final and a competitor from Basingstoke in the Junior Final.

Nesta Baxter also became double British National Champion in the Senior Female -65kg Light Continuous and Kick Light categories. Nesta had some great fights before coming up against a competitor from Manchester in the final which is won against on a convincing unanimous decision.

Talon Chambers became British National Champion in the Junior Men (16-18yrs) +94kg Point Fighting after securing the win against a competitor from Manchester. Talon also achieved a Silver Medal in the Junior Men -94kg Point Fighting after a very close final match.
Emily Greatrix had some brilliant performances this weekend and finished with a fantastic three silver medals and a bronze across Light Continuous and Point Fighting divisions.
Julia Kusyk won a Silver Medal in the Children’s -30kg Point Fighting category after winning some great fights to secure her spot in the final.

Paige Stedman won a Bronze Medal in the Junior Female (16-18yrs) -55kg Point Fighting category after some brilliant fights against top competitors across the country.
Mackenzie Warrant also won a Bronze Medal in the Junior Men (16-18yrs) -63kg Light Continuous after some exciting fights throughout his category.
We would like to say a huge well done to all of our competitors stepping onto the mat this weekend coming up against some of the best fighters in the country! Runners up this weekend were Jack Greatrix, Zac Baldry, Andrew Gregory, Theo Ziobro-Magalhaes, Olivia Green and Rhys Coleman.
