4 National Champions and 12th Place Club at the WAKO Kickboxing British National Championships

On the weekend of the 13th and 14th of November 2021, a team of competitors from Evolution Martial Arts in Boston, Lincolnshire travelled to the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre in Nottingham. They took part in the WAKO Kickboxing British National Championships which had over 70 clubs in attendance from across the United Kingdom.



It was a great weekend for Evolution Martial Arts at the British Championships for all of our competitors!


Evolution Martial Arts finished in 12th place out of 74 clubs over the 2 days. This is an exceptional result for our competitors and team.


On Saturday the 13th of November it was the day of Light Continuous and Kick Light.



Taking the gold medal positions and National Champions 2021 were Talon Chambers and Nesta Baxter both in the Kick Light Divisions. Talon competed in the Kick Light Older Cadet (13-15years) +69kg where he came up against a fighter from Liverpool in the final. Nesta competed in the Kick Light Senior -70kg where she battled with a competitor from Somerset in the final. Nesta also went on to win a Silver Medal in the Senior Women’s -65kg Light Continuous where she met the recent World Full Contact Champion from Wales in the Final.





On the Saturday, bronze medalist positions were taken in the Light Continuous by Mackenzie Warrant, Jack Greatrix, Emily Greatrix and Theo Magalhaes Ziobro.


Sunday the 14th saw the event of the Point Fighting at the Harvey Hadden.


Winning two further Gold Medals to add to his one from the previous day was Talon Chambers in the Junior (16-18years) -94kg and +94kg Point Fighting. Crowning Talon triple National Champion.



Julia Kusyk won the Silver Medal in the Children’s -30kg where she fought against a girl from Manchester in the final. Emily Gregory also won silver in the Girls Junior (16-18yrs) -70kg where she fought through a tough category before fighting an excellent final against a girl from Leeds. Mackenzie Warrant fought fantastically in his Boys Older Cadet (13-15yrs) -69kg where he came up against a well known fighter from Yorkshire in his final.


On the Sunday, bronze medals were won by Emily Greatrix (x2), Emily Gregory, Olivia Green and Julia Kusyk.



Other competitors won were runners ups for Evolution Martial Arts were Zac Baldry and Andrew Gregory.


Overall this was an excellent weekend for our competitors at the WAKO Kickboxing British National Championships 2021.
