Evolution Martial Arts finish 16th at the British National Kickboxing Championships 2023

On the weekend of the 18th and 19th of February members of Evolution Martial Arts travelled to the WAKO Kickboxing British National Championships 2023 which were held at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre in Nottingham. This was a brilliant weekend for Team Evolution Martial Arts coming away with four new National Champions, four silver medals and ten bronze medals.

Evolution Martial Arts finished the Championships placed in 16th position out of 78 clubs from across Great Britain.

Nesta Baxter became double British National Champion in the Senior Female -65kg Light Continuous and Senior Female Kick Light -65kg retaining both of her titles from 2022.

Emily Gregory also retained her National Title by winning the tough category of Senior Female -70kg Point Fighting. Emily then went on to fight in the next weight category of Senior Female +70kg Point Fighting where she won a silver medal.

Izabela Kusyk won her first National British Champion Title in the Veteran Female +65kg Point Fighting category after an exciting final against a competitor from London.

Silver medals were won by Julia Kusyk in the Younger Cadet Female -37kg Point Fighting, Dacie Redman in the Younger Cadet Female -47kg Point Fighting, and Olivia Green in the Junior Female +70kg Point Fighting who also went on to win a bronze medal in the Junior Female -70kg Point Fighting.

A triple set of bronze medals was won by Theo Magalhaes Ziobro in the Younger Cadet Male -42kg Light Continuous and Point Fighting as well as in the -47kg Point Fighting. Double bronze medals were won by Emily Greatrix in the Junior Female -60kg Point Fighting and Light Continuous categories.

Further bronze medals were won by Andrew Gregory in the Junior Male -74kg Point Fighting, Jack Greatrix in the Older Cadet Male -52kg Kick Light, Damian Hierons in the Senior Male -63kg Light Continuous, and Zac Baldry in the Senior Male -69kg Light Continuous

Runners up from Evolution Martial Arts were Cameron Dales, Blake Calisto, Jessica Stepian, and Wiktoria Kusyk.
