Team GB Selection for Four Evolution Athletes

Four young Kickboxers from Evolution Martial Arts which is based in Boston, Lincolnshire, have been selected to represent Team Great Britain at the upcoming WAKO Kickboxing Junior World Championships and WAKO Kickboxing Senior European Championships.

Mackenzie Warrant, 16, will be competing for the third time for Team GB whilst Emily Greatrix, 14, and Emily Gregory, 17, will be competing for the first time for their country. They will be travelling to Jesolo in Italy to compete at the WAKO Kickboxing Junior and Cadet World Championships in October.

Nesta Baxter, 22, will be representing Team GB at the WAKO Kickboxing Senior European Championships which will be held in Turkey at the end of the year. This will be Nesta’s ninth year as part of the Great Britain Team. She will be competing in the Senior (19yrs+) Female Light Continuous and Kick Light Categories.

At the Junior World Championships in Italy, Mackenzie will be competing in the Junior (16-18yrs) Male -69kg Light Continuous. Emily Greatrix will be competing in the Older Cadet (13-15yrs) Female -60kg Point Fighting and Light Continuous Categories. Emily Gregory will be competing in the Junior (16-18yrs) Female -70kg Point Fighting and Light Continuous Categories.

All four of the local athletes have worked extremely hard to get to this stage, having achieved National Championship Titles and medals at the start of the year, as well as being successfully selected for the Great Britain Team following attendance at National Squad Training sessions across the country.

Kickboxing is a self-funded sport even at such a high level and we are raising funds to help these young people achieve their potential by representing their country.
